I got FANTASTICAL news on Wednesday!

On Monday, Feb 23, I had a pet/ct scan for the purpose of seeing how much of my cancer was gone/how much was still there... I was figuring since I was half way through my treatment, that it would be SUPER if the cancer was half gone. I got the surprise of my life when I learned that my cancer is nearly ALL gone! My wonderful Doctor said to me that Im nearly in complete remission... music to my ears!

Now instead of 8 rounds (16 treatments) of chemo, Im stopping at 6. That means I only have THREE treatments left! Im not sure what we'll do after that yet, but Im on Photobucket right now... just wanted to share!

Hannah got Straight A's! (ahem, AGAIN!)

Time for a Mommy brag... no rolling your eyes!

Hannah is my little genius. She's in the gifted/talented class and made straight A's again (I believe she is the only one in the class to do so). This summer she will likely go to a Governor's School for the G&T. Im so darn proud of her, she is definitly *the one*... she's going to be something great one day and I just cant wait to see what wonderful things she does. She truly, truly amazes me, she does all of her school work effortlessly. She goes to school early everyday and stays back three days a week for her Odyssey of the Mind. That competition is in March.

I just cannot put into words how proud of her I actually am.. she's just amazing. On top of her schoolwork, she is a huge help to me and could run this house herself if I needed her to. She has such a level head and a loving, serving heart.. she's definitly going places. I love her so much!

I could go on and on and on... but brag over (for now!). Carry on Photobucket

Pity Party! And youre ALLLLL invited!

I feel like Im wearing down emotionally.. Ill have a few good weeks, then Ill crash and it takes a few days to clear up the wreckage. Each "crash" gets harder to recover from. Im half way through chemo and so many thoughts flood my mind regularly.. what if its not all gone when chemo is over? There are two drugs that I can never have again, so how would I be treated then? What if the chemo isnt working, or what if the cancer still spreads? I have so many questions and most of them I dont want the anwsers to. Even though I feel pretty good physically, Im mentally drained... I think the kids and B are suffering because of it.

We're going to need SO much therapy! Photobucket

The Michael Phelps Pot Incident.

If you live under a rock and dont know who Michael Phelps is... Ill fill you in. He has been in several Olympic games and most recently won 8 gold medals at the games in Beijing back in August. Apparently, thats more gold medals than anyone has won at an Olympic games, ever. Huge accomplishment! Good for him!

Michael Phelps is also a tall, lanky, awkward college aged kid. And he made a big mistake recently. In the day and age of digital cameras and cell phones that can do anything imaginable, he decided to hit a bong at a crowed party. Dummy. Obviously 8 gold medals does nothing for one's sensibility. I dont care that he decided to smoke weed... it's his choice. Whatever. I dont think he should be stripped of his medals... its pot, not steroids for Pete's sake... its makes a person slow and lazy, not lightening fast.

What pisses me off is that the news has decided to splash this image ALL over everything. My children have now heard the word BONG. They have seen the picture. Noice, huh? I couldnt get to the remote fast enough to change the station. Of course, they werent paying much attention, but they WERE in the same room. Before they could ask questions I told them that Michael Phelps made a bad choice and left it at that. It irks me that newscasters think that things like this are considered "big" news. Its not, its nothing. I feel like I cant even click on the news to catch the weather with the kids in the room anymore... I can totally see why people choose not to have tv's in their houses.

Sigh. Anyway, just a personal rant... carry on.
