The goings on...

Chaos. CONTROLLED chaos, that is. Always tons of stuff going on here. As the school year winds down, we get busier and busier. We are in the middle of the baseball season, we have tons to do with the Boy Scouts, plenty of band concerts, trips planned, meetings, a new school being formed and on and on and on. We are busy several nights during the week and most weekends. So much to do, I feel like its never done, but, I AM in control of the chaos! I am. Really.

We are having a great time with little league. Its so much more fun than tee-ball was. We enjoy seeing the boys play and get SO into the games, its unbelievable! We all cheer for each others kids and the kids on the other team as well when they do something spectacular, or even mediocre, or not so well at all! I love how the boys are learning such sportsmanship.. they all make me so proud.

Recently we've had the oppertunity to take care of some animals that we wouldnt normally. We found a teeny baby turtle about the size of my thumbnail! We thought about getting our aqaurium out of the shed that used to house my chameleon, Louie (RIP, Lou) to keep him, but in the end we decided to let him go.. I was afraid he wouldnt survive with us. Here are a few pictures of him!

Yesterday morning I found out that my Dad rescued a newborn kitty from his job the night before. The teeny little grey kitty was found in a drainage ditch, freezing, filthy and starving. Dad named him "Lucky". Yesterday I babysat Lucky while my Mom was at work. I cleaned him up and fed him all day long with an eyedropper. Lucky liked to be swaddled, it was SO cute... he's fall right asleep after being turned into a kitty burrito! I gave him back to my Mom last night for "the night shift" and sadly, the little love became ill and didnt make it through the night. :( We were going to keep him too. Sleep tight, lil Lucky.

I have learned that I am considered to be in complete remission and I dont think I actually blogged about that! After my last scan (on Ella's birthday!!) my oncologist got together with the radiologist and the radiation oncologist to compare all of my scans. There was some concern that I had residual enlarged nodes remaining in my chest. The general consensus is that they are only inflamed with no activity in them so I will not be needing any radiation at this point! AMEN!

Today I had a mammogram, it was my very first. It wasnt as bad as I'd anticipated, but the side with my port was very uncomfortable because the machine was tugging downward on it. Ouch! Thankfully it only lasts seconds.

Last night I attended a meeting on the new Christian school thats to be in Cape Charles - Cape Charles Christian School. I was so impressed with everything that was presented and especially the excitement of the staff members who are already on board. If everything goes the way we hope, pray and plan, our kids WILL be attending! They are officially on the roster as of today!! Photobucket

Ethan had Boy Scouts tonight and earned some.. uh... stuff? Not badges, but other things like arrow points and a baseball pin. Ill have a picture of that later.. they are still on the camera!

Anyway, there is so much more going on than this, this is just a small glimpse into the chaos thats been unfolding here in the Eder homestead lately :)
